Last updated 18 October 2026. Jeldavo (“this site”) is an independent, informational travel guide about the Matterhorn and Zermatt, with a hotel catalogue. This policy explains what limited information the site handles.

Information we collect

This site has no user accounts, no contact form and no booking or payment system. The only personal information we receive is what you choose to include in an email to the address on the Contact page, plus what the optional Google Ads tag described below collects if you accept it. Server logs may record standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and basic traffic analysis, in line with normal web-hosting practice.

Cookies and the Google Ads tag

The site itself sets no cookies. It stores one entry in your browser's local storage (jeldavo_consent) to remember your choice. The only optional technology is the Google Ads tag (ID AW-18320667744), which measures our advertising and may set Google cookies and send your IP address and browser details to Google. It is not loaded until you press Accept. If you press Decline, or do nothing, nothing is requested from Google for it. You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer: withdrawing deletes the Google cookies we can reach and reloads the page without the tag. Legal basis: your consent. Google processes this data under its own terms. The trip planner on the home page runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.

Fonts, photos and maps

Three things load from other companies, and each sends them your IP address and browser details. The site's typefaces come from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) every time a page opens. Hotel photos come from the Hotelbeds photo server (photos.hotelbeds.com) when a hotel is shown. The map on a hotel page is loaded from Google Maps only after you press “Load map”.

Third-party links

Pages on this site link out to third parties such as railway and lift operators, tourism offices and hotels. Once you leave this site, that third party's own privacy policy applies — this policy covers only jeldavo.com.

Contact submissions

If you email the address listed on the Contact page, that email address and message content are used only to respond to your inquiry and are not shared with third parties (other than our email provider acting on our behalf) or added to a marketing list.

Your rights

Under data protection law that applies to you, including the Swiss FADP, the EU and UK GDPR where relevant and Ukrainian law, you can ask what personal information we hold about you (in practice, only email correspondence), ask for it to be corrected or deleted, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your data protection authority. Email [email protected] and we will act on the request without unreasonable delay.

Transfers outside your country

The publisher is in Ukraine and the site is hosted by a standard hosting provider; Google and Hotelbeds operate internationally. Data reaching them through your browser is governed by their own policies.
